Vercingetorix is here for the 2026 St. Patrick's Day event. He's built for ground rallies and offers a huge capacity boost. We’ll go over his buffs, analyze his performance, and look at the top pairings.
Vercingetorix was the chieftain of the Arverni, a Gallic tribe in the 1st century BC. Through exceptional leadership and unwavering resolve, he united the once-divided tribes of Gaul and launched a fierce resistance against Rome. As the Roman legions advanced, Vercingetorix was chosen as supreme commander and forged the scattered Gallic tribes into a more unified force. Even so, the Romans still held the advantage in direct battle. He therefore turned to the Gauls' home-ground strengths, using scorched-earth tactics and swift maneuvers to wear down the enemy and build his strength. This war of attrition soon led to a decisive moment at Gergovia. Before the battle, Caesar had seized three Gallic strongholds and outmaneuvered Vercingetorix to threaten the city, but Roman fatigue and overconfidence had also grown. Vercingetorix saw through Caesar's next feint, won over some of his Gallic allies, and struck with cavalry at a critical moment, dealing the Romans a crushing blow. Caesar later recorded that 46 centurions were killed in the battle. The Battle of Gergovia became Caesar's most painful defeat in the Gallic Wars and sparked a broader uprising across Gaul. Although Vercingetorix later surrendered at Alesia to save his people, his defiance has endured as a lasting symbol of resistance against overwhelming power.

Besides Vercingetorix, Lorenzo de' Medici is another general recently released by Evony, whose skill description is also "leading the army to attack." Therefore, I choose to compare the strength of these two generals. The table below shows buffs that apply to attacking ground troops, in percentages.
Vercingetorix is a solid main ground general, especially for alliance wars. He’ll be a beast in large-scale PvP.
Among generals skilled at leading ground troops, Scipio Africanus, Soult, and Pyrrhus, while also having a rally capacity bonus, only receive an 8% bonus. Furthermore, they lack covenant attributes, and their other attributes are generally inferior to Vercingetorius's.
